Community Guidelines

Welcome to the JournalPHP community. These guidelines apply wherever the project is discussed: GitHub Issues, pull requests, repository discussions.

Core Principles

We are here to build a better platform together. Criticizing ideas with arguments is an important part of the process. But let's not make it personal.

Prohibited:

• Offensive or demeaning comments, hate speech
• Harassment, impersonation, defamation
• Deleting or sabotaging other participants' content
• Abusing or disclosing personal information
• Obscene content
• Spam, phishing, any destructive actions in the repository
• Discussion of software piracy

Violations are grounds for action by maintainers, up to and including being blocked on GitHub.

Writing Issues and PRs

• Clear title — convey the issue or proposal at a glance
• One issue, one topic — do not duplicate the same problem across multiple issues
• Language — English or Russian, both are welcome
• Do not sign manually — GitHub shows the author automatically

Before creating an issue, read the FAQ and check existing issues.

Giving Useful Feedback

• Read the original message fully before replying
• Avoid one-word replies like "+1" — use GitHub reactions instead
• Do not split a single thought into multiple consecutive comments
• If the topic has drifted — open a new issue

Conflicts

If you have a conflict with another participant — do not escalate it yourself. Describe the situation to maintainers via GitHub Issues.
